Day 4- After the wind......
Day 4
Thursday 21st November
Last night was really windy that rocked the valley where we are. The noise woke up one or two of our happy campers but they did manage to get back to sleep.
Breakfast this morning was toast, cereal and bacon rolls. The first dorm got a 10 out of 10 for their inspection this morning so the girls in the dorm were delighted.
Mr Napier was taking part in archery. Bradley was amazing at it and won the game we played once we had refined our skills. Justina started off strong but struggled to score highly towards the end. Laurie kept on getting a good grouping (how close all your arrows were to the others.) Logan was also very confident and hitting the centre fairly frequently. Ellya was also very strong at archery.
The group with Miss Gaunt were mountain biking this morning and had a great day out on the tracks. Callum managed to lose a cog from his bike gears but thankfully this was found after a mad hunt. The group she was with in the afternoon saw Sam, Ava and Lazaro master snowboarding. Aaron S was a little more reluctant but gave it a great go. Mrs Simpson was mountain biking this afternoon and noticed Emily growing in confidence. She was nervous going up the hills on the bike but loved going down them.
Mr Napier was gorge walking with Kian, Chris, Carmen, Sofia, Lucy, Callum, Gabi and Leah. Leah turned out to love the cold water and loved jumping in/sliding down the waterfalls/swimming in the plunge pools. This was the same plunge pool poor Mrs Gillies submerged herself in yesterday.
Lazaro really enjoyed himself on the slopes this afternoon.
Snowboarding is hard. Sophia was extremely resilient when giving it a go.
Bradley was a superstar again and gave the abseiling a go, despite having a sore ankle and bruising from skiing yesterday.
Not sure if Mazin is leaning on the tree or not. Depends on the perspective.
Dinner was burgers and chips with chocolate fudge cake for pudding. Callum's cake had a birthday candle in it and we all sang happy birthday to him. The disco went well with everyone finding their feet and working out what to do at these things- eventually.
We have chased them all upstairs now and they are attempting to fit everything they brought from home back into their bags. Some of it is wet. Some of it is soaking. Most of it is smelly. We are warning you and your washing machines now.........
