Day 2 Tuesday 19th November

Tuesday 19th

The majority of our campers had an amazing sleep last night. One party dorm decided at 3am that their sleeping was done for the night but after some 'feedback' from Mr Napier recognised that perhaps another four hours of sleep might be helpful.
It was a parky minus seven degrees last night and there is a heavy frost everywhere this morning. Pupils ordered bacon rolls/Quorn sausage rolls last night and will fuel up, along with cereal and toast this morning before the morning activities start.
There is a room inspection at 9am so everyone is anticipating some fierce judging.

Breakfast has finished. Who knew Skye and Sohpia loved tea so much? Who knew Lazaro could eat so many Coco Pops?!? Bradley was a superstar at clearing his table and wiping it down. Having checked he is not willing to do this at home though. Freya has been a master hairdresser to the masses and is pleating anyone with hair over a certain length.

I have just passed Owain who has been emptying his dorms bin. Tyler is stressing about having his bed all neat and tidy, comparing it to his peers. Callum is making sure his dorm mates have all brushed their teeth!!!

Today Laurie, Ellya, Bradley, Adam, Logan, Kerys, Andrew, Justina, Owain and Mrs Simpson were on a huge hill walk in the snow. There was no wind and there was deep heather and snow to navigate their way through. It was not an easy climb by any means and the camera was affected by the cold so there are not many pictures.

Chris was a star today taking on a lead role in the kayaking this afternoon. We all really enjoyed smashing ice with the kayaks, then switched to using our heads and hands. Kian, Omar, Callum and Lucy's hands got cold but we realised that if we repeatedly stick our hands into icy water then perhaps this could be expected! Sofia was a star at skiing and Chris found it hard initially, but learned to steer and slow down. Carmen took a lead role in the kayaking and motivated her boat to paddle at the same time. Leah loved throwing ice on top of the frozen loch and watching it smash and bounce in different directions. Gabi took the kayaking in his stride and helped his boat master steering and turning.

Skye, Amy, Aaron, Sean, Emily, Freya, Mazin and Jamie were canoeing with Mrs Gilbertson from 10-3.30pm and arrived back at the end of the day a little tired and chilly. Aaron M lost out on a forfeit and had to wash his face in the loch, which he gladly did!

Before their marathon canoe.

The intrepid explorers, huddling together for warmth.

Lunch time- any time, any where, any place. Xinyi, Ava and Sam not even taking the opportunity for a seat!

Bestest buddies- Aaron and Tyler.

Not sure about Aydin's photographic pose here! Hayden showing us he has lost some fingers to frostbite.

Ava, Sophia, Kikilee and Sam power across Loch Inch.

Another day is drawing to a close. The weather has been cool but clear with very little wind. Three groups were out on the loch in canoes/kayaks and had a ball working together learning how to turn, paddle backwards and race up a river.
Everyone is now in their beds (finally) after a scavenger hunt that took place throughout the grounds. Everyone has had a shower now too! Mrs Gilbertson has left and Mrs Gillies is on her way up the road. Hopefully everyone will get a little more sleep this evening..........

Adam, Kian, Omar and Aaron S have just beaten Mr Napier at Uno. He's nae happy.
